From 1991-1993 the percentage of plants damaged by the European corn borer (ECB) was observed at two locations in southwestern Slovakia. Damage was higher in hybrids than in inbred lines. Differences between hybrids grown under the same conditions were not significant. However, significant differences in degrees of infestation were found between inbred lines
