Examinated was the effect on the copper level of the ration on the LDH-Isoenzymes relative distribution in the blood serum (by using the agarose gel electrophoresis) of Thessaloniki crossbred type young ewes. In addition, the copper blood serum content was measured by Atomic Absorption Spectrometry. For this purpose 18 pregnant young ewes were randomly allocated to three groups (6 animals in each group, caged individually) and were fed by rations differing as to the Cu content (9.97, 36.64 and 63.30 ppm, respectively). The experimental design was factorial 3X8 with 6 replicates and with main factors the ration's Cu level and the time of blood sample taking. For the estimation of the main effects and interactions a least square analysis was applied. The effect of copper, at toxic levels, on the LDH-Isoenzymes relative distribution in the blood serum of the pregnant young ewes was significant as to the isoenzymes: LDH1, LDH2 and LDH3. As to the effect of time of blood taking samples there were some significant differences on all isoenzymes.
