Английский. Levels of resistance in three genotypes of maize (cacahuacintle, H-23 and palomero) againts the damage of Prostephanus truncatus (Horn) were determined, using life and fertility tables. The population parameters of P. truncatus were numerically low in palomero corn, hence the most resistat, followed by the hibrid H-23 and cacahuacintle.

Se determinaron los niveles de resistencia al dano de P. truncatus (Horn), en tres genotipos de maiz (cacahuacintle, H-23 y palomero), mediante tablas de vida y de fertilidad del insecto. Los valores de los parametros poblacionales de P. truncatus resultaron menores en el maiz palomero, por lo que se le considera el mas resistente en comparacion con el cacahuacintle, e intermedio a estos, el hibrido H-23.
