[Spreading of opuntia roots (Opuntia amyclaea, Tenore)into stups developed under three stuffings in decaying soils]

In this work, the distribution of the prickly's root was studied under the plantation system on pits in four depths (60,90,120 and 150cm) and three materials of refill (refuse, refuse-soil in equal parts, and soil). This study was conducted under rainfed conditions in the experimental station of the University Autonoma Chapingo. From the information that was taken during the year 1986, the following results were obtained: 1.-The material of refill that most favored the roots development with a diameter larger than 2 mm, were the refuse, followed by refuse-soil and finally the soil alone; 2.-The refill of refuse-soil however propitiated the best development of roots with a diameter less than 2 mm, and 3.- In general, the best combination was obtained by the refill refuse-soil with depth of pit of 90 cm.

En este trabajo se estudio la distribucion de raices del nopal bajo el sistema de plantacion en cepas a cuatro profundidades (60, 90, 120 y 150 cm) y con tres materiales de relleno (tepetate, suelo-tepetate en partes iguales y suelo). El estudio fue conducido bajo condiciones de temporal en el campo agricola experimental de la Universidad Autonoma Chapingo. De la informacion recibida durante el ano de 1986 se obtuvieron los siguientes resultados: 1.-El material de relleno que mas favorecio a el desarrollo de las raices con diametro mayor de 2 mm fue el de tepetate, le siguio la mezcla suelo-tepetate y finalmente, el de suelo, 2.-En cambio, el relleno de suelo-tepetate propicio un mayor desarrollo de raices con diametro menor de 2 mm, y 3.-En general, la mejor combinacion estuvo formada por el relleno suelo-tepetate con profundidad de cepa de 90 cm.
