Field experiments were conducted to test the effects of climatic conditions on the performance of eight pea cultivars in Swat Valley. Maximum plant height of 42 cm was recorded in cultivar "Earlyroy" at Mingora, followed by "Granada" (41 cm). The cultivar, "Almota" attained maximum height of 31 cm at Kalam, followed by "Granada" (28 cm). Maximum number of 149 days to maturity was taken by "Almota" followed by :Dover" (140 days) at Mingora, whereas at Kalam, the crop of Swat local, and "Bellroy" matured in 44 and 43 days respectively. At Mingora, powdery mildew infestation ranged from 48 to 100 percent and "Earlyroy" gave the maximum yield at the rate of 1.048 tons/ha followed by "Frestiroy" 0.762 tons. Powdery mildew infestation at Kalam was negligible and the maximum yield at the rate of 1.611 tons/ha was given by "Frescoroy" followed by "Earlyroy" at the rate of 1.414 tons/ha. All the cultivars performed well at Kalam due to cool climatic conditions.
