Adaptability trial of white potato processing varieties in different location of CAR [Cordillera Administrative Region, Philippines4]

The production of white potato processing varieties is the present demand of the consumer market because of increasing fast food chains. The northern Philippine highland areas are the traditional and suitable areas for cultivation of white potato with considerable yields, however, the variety as well as the quality and quantity needed by the processors have to be satisfied hence the need to identify and evaluate the processing types of the white potato commodity. This study was therefore conceptualized and conducted from Feb 1995 to Dec 1996 at 4 different locations namely: Tadiangan, Tuba, Barlig, Mt Province, Tulodan, Atok, and Sinakbat, Bakun to evaluate thirteen white potato processing varieties courtesy of NIVAA. Results show that Baraka, Columbus, Solide, Signal, and Diamant had the highest yield with mean of 31.38, 31.34, 29.28, 28.65, and 28.54 t/ha, respectively. Based on the percent size distribution the same varieties had produced large size tubers compared to the other varieties.
