Evaluation of 21 rose cultivars planted in two systems in the glasshouse

Twenty one rose cultivars planted in glasshouse on raised beds: distributed uniformly or in rows, were evaluated during three consecutive years (1989-91). The yield of cut flowers, their quality and damage caused by spider mites (Tetranychus urticae Koch.) were estimated. The yield of most of the investigated cultivars was not affected by planting system. The highest number of flowers produced cvs. Sabrina and Athena followed by the group of cultivars: Sonia, Jaguar, Jacaranda, Motrea, Mercedes and Helmut Schmidt. Spider mites small caused damages in the following cultivars: Sabrina, Helmut Schmidt, Flamingo, Athena, Gabriella, Mercedes
