Influence of different forage mixture of the structure of thyroid gland in the pig and wild boar

The examination was carried out on 36 wild boars and 45 pigs, divided into 8 groups in which different forage mixture were used. It was found the greater size of thyroid follicles, intensive epithelium proliferation and growth of the C-cells number in the animals which were fed the forage with high dose of fodder beets, barley flockes and maize flockes. It was concluded that feeding with monodiets may cause changes in the thyroid gland tending toward the senile as well as pathological ones
