The meadow on very acid soil (pH 3.7) was limed twice in 1983 and 1985 at the rates 0, 4 and 8 t CaO/ha + 150 kg NPK/ha every year. Sequent positive effects of liming on the soil (pH 6.3-6.9), floristic composition of meadow sward (increasing content of valuable grass species to 85.1-97%) and chemical composition of hay dry matter were observed over next ten years
