Studies on metring of granular mineral fertilizers with pin distributors

Investigation of two type of pin distributors destined in principle for sowing seeds, showed their usability for metering granular fertilizers (carbamide, polyphosphate, ammonium phosphate, superphosphate). Changes in width of feeding distributor gap affected the weight of sown fertilizer much stronger than the outlet gap alternation. The highest metering uniformity was obtained at the widest opening of gap gate (35-50 mm) and 7.5-12.5 mm clearance of working gap between the pins and bottom od distributor. The distributors used cereal grain were applicable also to sowing fertlilzers of fine and medium granulation while for coarse - the distributors used for large size seeds are recommended
