Investigations carried out in a plum tree orchard on sandy soils, has revealed that the main cause of three-death is the soil natrium content, associated with high air porosity and high acidity. Different levels of natrium toxicity were shown in changes suffered by peach root system distribution and root components. In ecopedological conditions of dammed in area Potelu-Corabia, high levels of natrium, ferrum and sulphur content were found in plum roots, especially in root hairs.
