This paper evaluates the observations of the growth and development of a 19 year-old spruce-beech young stand; in individual mixture of spruce (permanent plot (TVP)3 and 4); and clump mixture of spruce (permanent plot (TVP)1 and 2) created by combined regeneration. The sample plots with different lengths of shading by parent stand and different intensities of tending are compared. Prolongation of the time of shading by the parent stand for a further three years caused retardation of the height growth of both tree species with greater intensity in spruce and at the same time in the growth in number of beech trees by additional regeneration. The difference in height was distinct even 11 years after the elimination of the shading.
