Study on the degree of pathogenicity of Drechslera sorokiniana (Sacc) in Thailand

Spot blotch disease caused by Drechslera sorokiniana (Sacc) infect wheat, barley and most grasses at seedling stage until ripening stage. In case of high humidity and rainfall, this disease will occur widely and severely. To study the pathogenicity of D. sorokiniana is useful for finding resistant varieties and controlling. In 1990-92, two virulent-isolations of D. sorokiniana were inoculated to Phrae 60, Fang 60, Insee 1, Insee 2, Samoeng 1, Samoeng 2, BRB 3, ND 8671, ND 8753. The data of leaf area damage on each variety and isolate were statistical analysed. There are interactions between varieties and isolate. Therefore 9 varieties of wheat and barley as mentioned above can be used to classify the degree of pathogenicity of D. sorokiniana in Thailand.
