In a study on the organogenesis and histology of giant catfish fry (Pangasianodon gigas) from day 1, to day 12, it was found that the myotomes began to develop by day 1 but the digestive system still consisted of just a simple straight gut. On day 2, the yolk sac began to deplete and the liver was present but the pancreas was not found. On the following day, gills and eye were more fully developed and teeth were present. The yolk sac was not present on day 4 but the digestive tract as well as excretory system was developed. On the 8th-9th day the stomach was completely developed in the fry.
