Canker of Trichomoniasis in Pigeon: Case report

Four racing pigeons, one year old sent for diagnosis with signs of inappetite, diarrhoea dyspnea, polydipsia and viscid salivation. Necropsy showed that disc-like caseous material, yellow button, were found adherent to the lining of mouth, throat, oesophagus and enteritis. Trichomonas gallinae, protozoa, were found in this mass. Histopathological findings were congestion of heart, liver, edema of kidney. Erotion cell necrosis and lymphoid cell presented in oesophghus. The left were treated successfully with 0.05 % dimetridozole solution for seven days.
