It was studied the occurrence of microorganisms and dehydrogenase activity in the chernozem under soybean after application of various herbicides. The herbicides applied were: imazetapir-ammonium (Pivot), klomazon (Command), imazetapir-ammonium + bentazon (Pivot + Basagran), komazon + bentazon (Command + Basagran). Considering the number and enzymic activity of microorganisms, herbicides can have stimulative or inhibitory effect. It means that some groups of microorganisms can participate in biodegradation of herbicides in the soils, which affects their increase. However, depending on dosage, soil property, ecological factors and preparation, herbicides can inhibit microorganisms activity and number. Total number of bacteria, ammonifiers, azotobacters, and dehydrogenase activity was reduced after herbicide application. The herbicides had variable effect on fungi, while the number of actinomycetes was increased with respect to the control.
