It was studied the efficiency of the drug Fluvalinat in fighting Varroa jacobsoni in 14 experimental Langstroth-Rooth beehives on a bee farm of 40-60 bee societies per year. Dead varroae were counted on the 2nd, 4th, 10th, 25th, and 30th days after Fluvalinat was placed in the hives. It was established that the autumn treatment in 1991 resulted in an average of 129 dead varroae per hive in five counts (25-347), after the spring treatment in 1992 there was an average of 81 dead varroae (13-202), and after the autumn treatment in 1992 an average of 134 dead varroae (14-340). In all three treatments the number of dead varroae was not significant when they were counted 30 days after the drug was placed in the hives (an average of 2-13 per hive). Three examinations of the degree of infection of the drone litter with varroae in the summer showed that 11 of the drone larvae and pupae were infected with 1-3 varroae.
