The carnivorous larvae of aphidophagous Syrphids have a voracity enabling them to reduce the growing of aphid and to snake a real biological control of these pests. In this insects, larvae and adults do not have same food or feeding habits: larvae feed on aphids and adults on flowers; from there, their sexual maturation is achieved. The aim of this work is therefore to verify if the management of flowering margins nearby crops is necessary to provide to Syrphids best conditions for the biocontrol of aphids. In cereal crops, after 2 years, observations revealed that Episyrphus balteatus was the most important species qualitatively and quantitatively among the 14 species captured. The constant occurrence and an effective predatory activity, are advantages to this insect to be considered as an auxiliary for biocontrol of aphids in cereal crops. The flowering trip along the field provided resources for adults which move mostly from the field to the flowering margin to feed on flowers. Only 2 of the 9 aphidophagous Syrphids present oviposited in the crops, E. balteatus occurred mostly. Its oviposition did not any time took place in colonies closer to the flowering margins, nor in aphids colonies with very high densities, moreover, aphids colonies must be in high quality to optimise the oviposition. The presence of flowers in the margins acted significatively on the activity of E. balteatus in these crops
