This study describes macroscopical and histological aspects of the lateral trochlear ridge of the talus. Thirty-nine hocks from 18 horses and 2 ponies were dissected. Sampling of the lateral trochlear ridge of the talus was executed. The necropsy revealed erosive damages. At the histological examination, some structural and cellular modifications were observed on the injured samplings. At the end of this study, it was established that these damages could appear asymptomaticaly in very young horses.
