The purpose was to study the effect of different winter preceding crops. i.e., wheat, fodder beet and berseem and nitrogen fertilizer rates, as well as their interaction on growth productivity and quality of forage sorghum. The results of the two seasons revealed that preceding winter crops had significant effects on plant height, number of tillers per plant, leaf area per plant, fresh and dry forage yields and crude protein percentage
