The majority of the products of the goose industry, i.e. goose liver, meat and feather, are marketed abroad as products suitable for covering current demand on the market. In order to promote "optimum" marketing, in the field of goose liver Hungary has chosen the option of self-restriction which, however, has led to serious conflicts in distributing quotas among traditional and new domestic goose breeders and processors. Similary to goose liver, marketing conditions have not improved in the field of goose meat either, though it could have been expected in consequence of the GATT agreement
