Effect of moisture content with different plow types and two plowing depths in fuel consumption of the tractor

Field experiment was carried out to study the effect of moisture content (18,15,12 and 8) with three plow types (Mouldboard,Disc and chisel) and two plowing depths (10-15cm and 15-20cm) in fuel consumption of the tractor.The soil in the field was silty loam.The experiment was designed according to the RCBD and the results can be summarised the moisture content increased with decreasing the moisture content.There were significant interactions between moisture content and plow types.Chisel plow showed significantly less fuel consumption with all the studied levels of moisture content. Moisture content interacted significantly with plowing depths, moisture content 18 at 10-15cm plowing depth showed significant decrease in fuel consumption. There were significant interactions between moisture content, plow types and plowing depths, chisel plow at 18 moisture content and 10-15 cm plowing depth showed less fuel consumption
