Effect of age, sex, and body weight on some parts of reproductive and digestive system of the White Leghorn and Newhampshire chicks

One hundred and forty birds were used in this experiment to study the effect of breeds, age, and sex on the growth and development of the digestive tract, pancrease, liver, and gonads of White Leghorn and Newhampshire chicks. The results showed that there were significant differences on the relative weight of digestive tract up to 90 days and in the gizzard, duodenum and ceca at day 30 of age in White Leghorn and Newhampshire, but there were significancant differences in the relative weight of stomach on day 90 and below, with ages 120 days and more, the digestive tract significantly decreased with age in both breeds and sexes
