[The comparison of winter wheat extra fertilization with ammonium nitrate, urea and fluid urea]

The efficiency of winter wheat extra fertilization with ammonium nitrate, urea and fluid urea was compared at the Lithuanian Institute of Agriculture in Dotnuva over 1991-1994. While increasing nitrogen fertilizer rate, ammonium nitrate was more effective than urea in most cases. In dry years ammonium nitrate was more effective than urea with respect to yield and grain quality. At the same rates of fertilization the content of total nitrogen and gluten as well as sedimentation were influenced by extra fertilization more at a nodding stage than in the beginning of growth period.
