The distribution of the rural farms according to the size of territory and dispersion of plots

The size of the rural territory and their location have been numbered among the most important factors influencing the production costs and ability to compete. Analysing the distribution of farms and household plots as to their total area (Tables 1, 2; Fig.1) and the number of plots (interplots) (Table 3, Fig.2) it is possible to conclude that farms and household plots with average area of 26.9 ha and 7.6 ha, respectively, regarding their size are very differentiated; only half (55%) of the farms and two thirds (67%) of household plots have their whole land property located on the plot; the dispersion of plots is increasing as the size of territory increases.
