[Dynamic simulated model ceres-maize as an aid in the production of maize seed] | Utilizacion del modelo de simulacion dinamica ceres-maize como auxiliar en la produccion de semilla de maiz (Zea mays L.).

Английский. For testing the simulation model CERES-Maize V 2.10 for predicting grain production and seed quality, an experiment was carried out. Hybrid H-32 and its two parental single crosses were grown at two population densities: 50 and 70 thousand plants per hectare. The fertilization rate was 120-60-30. This plant density reduction affected the fitness of the model to the agronomic variables (excepting leaf area index); however, the model accurately predicted phenological variables such as days to anthesis and physiological maturity. Regarding the agronomic variables the model could predict the number of seeds per square meter and the number of kernels per ear, in those treatments having better performance (T1, T3, T5), growing at lower population density and better agronomic practices. This model may be important in new seed production areas, however the CERES-Maize has to be tested with better growing conditions and optimal agronomic practices to obtain best results. Also, the genetic coefficients have to be estimated for each genotype; in other words, calibration of model has to be done.

Se efectuo un experimento cuyo objetivo fue utilizar el modelo de simulacion dinamica CERES-Maize V 2.10, como auxiliar en la produccion de grano y semilla de maiz de calidad. Se utilizo el hibrido de cruza doble H-32 y sus 2 progenitores. Los tratamientos resultaron de la combinacion de 3 genotipos y 2 densidades de poblacion (50 y 70 mil plantas por hectarea, respectivamente); la fertilizacion utilizada fue 120-60-30. La perdida de poblacion por condiciones adversas de produccion limito del ajuste del modelo para las variables agronomicas (a excepcion del indice de area foliar). El modelo tuvo la capacidad de prediccion solo en aquellos tratamientos con la densidad de poblacion baja y por ende con las menores deficiencias en campo, en las variables numero de semillas por m2 y numero de semillas por mazorca (T1, T3 y T5) y no asi para los tratamientos con alta densidad de poblacion (T2, T4 y T6). Se sugiere probar el modelo en mejores condiciones ambientales y en una fecha de siembra mas temprana; ademas, de realizar la estimacion de los coeficientes geneticos de los genotipos y calibracion del modelo.
