Английский. A laboratory study was conducted to measure the influence of pH and the orgnaic matter content on the Cr(VI) reduction in soils. Differential pulse polarography was used to determine Cr(VI) was carried out with Tris-Na OH at pH 13. This method is suitable to determine Cr(VI) in organic soils. The results indicate that high organic matter content and low pH favor the reduction, but under alkaline conditions the Cr(VI) persists long time in the soil to be transported into groundwater

Representa un metodo adecuado para determinar Cr(VI) en suelos organicos. Tambien se estudio la influencia del pH y del contenido de materia organica sobre la reduccion de Cr (VI) en suelos. Los resultados indican, que contenidos altos de materia organica y valores de pH acidos, favorecen la reduccion. Sin embargo, en suelos alcalinos el Cr (VI) puede permanecer el tiempo suficiente para ser transportado a traves del perfil
