A digital model for the "Hydraulic Simulation of Irrigation Canals" (SCI) under unsteady flow was calibrated, validated and appliet into the pools of the Right Margin Principal Channel (CPMD) in the Irrigation District No. 085, La Begona, Guanajuato. The methodology used to carry out the present work included records of the geometrical, topological, and topographical characteristics of the CPMD, as well as the hydraulic function under steady and unsteady flow conditions. SIC was adapted with the information obtained, calibrated for steady flow conditions and validated for unsteady flow conditions. Through application on CPMD real operation, it was concluded that the SCI model is able to simulate satisfactorily the hydraulic operation of this canal, and thus it may be applied for its operation

Se calibra, valida y aplica el modelo de simulacion del flujo transfitorio "Hydraulic Simulation of Irrigation Canals" (SIC), en la serie de trams del Canal Principal Margen Derecha (CPMD), en el Distrito de Riego No. 085, La Begona, Guanajuato. La metodologia consistio en registrar las caracteristicas topograficas, topologicas y geometricas del CPMD, asi como el funcionamiento hidraulico del mismo cuando operaba en condiciones de regimen permanente y de regimen no permanente o transitorio. Con la informacion obtenida se adapto el SIC, calibrandolo para las condiciones de regimen permanente y validandolo para regimen no permanente. Al aplicarlo en la operacion real del CPMD se concluyeque el modelo simula satisfactoriamente el funcionamiento hidraulico de este canal y puede aplicarse en corto plazo en su operacion
