[Use of plant and mineral powders as an alternative for the control of fungi in stored maize grain] | Uso de polvos vegetales y minerales como una opcion para el control de hongos en grano de maiz almacenado.

Английский. The efficiency of powders (at 1%) of vegetal and mineral origin for the control of fungi associated with stored maize (Zea mays L.) grain, was evaluated. Plants were: Gliricidia sepium, Guazuma tomentosa, Gnaphalium inortatum, Melia azedarach, Neurolaena lobata, Pyracantha koidzumii, and Ricinus communis; minerals were: adsorcite, lime, marble, rob, and light teckies, in five tropical locations in Mexico. The control treatments were Malathion 4% D (in 1% dosis), and absolute control. The samples were processed in the laboratory to prepare desinfected grains (D) and grains without desinfectation (ND). Thirty-two species of fungi were identified; the most common were Rhizopus sp., Penicillium sp., Aspergillus spp., and Fusarium spp. There were inconsistencies in the results obtained among locations. The treatments of G. sepium marble, N. lobata, G. tomentosa and R. communis inhibited the development of call colonies of fungi in D and ND grain in relation to all paralled control treatments. G. sepium showed the most fungi inhibition; G. inortatum and P. koidzumii were less efective. The vegetal powders inhibited the development of Aspergillus spp. Besides, Rhizopus sp., Penicullium sp., Aspergillus sp., and Fusarium spp., required different environmental conditions for their development and showed interspecific antagonism.

Испанский язык; кастильский. Se evaluo la efectividad de polvos (a 1%) de origen vegetal y mineral en el control de hongos asociados con granos de maiz (Zea mays L.) almacenado. Los vegetales fueron: Gliricidia, Guazuma tomentosa, Gnaphalium inortatum, Melia azedarach, Neurolaena lobata, Pyracantha koidzumii y Ricinus communis, y los minerales: Adsorcite, cal, marmol, rob y teckies ligero, en cinco localidades tropicales de Mexico. Se incluyo como testigos Malation 4% D (en dosis de 1%) y testigo absoluto. Las muestras se procesaron en el laboratorio para preparar granos desinfectados (D) y granos sin desinfectar (ND). Se identifico 32 especies de hongos; los mas comunes fueron Rhizopus sp., Penicillium so., Aspergillus spp. y Fusarium spp. El control de hongos asociados con el grano de maiz almacenado mediante el uso de polvos vegetales y minerales fue inconsistente entre las localidades. Los tratamientos con G. sepium, marmol, N. lobata, G. tomentosa y R. communis inhibieron el desarrollo de todas las colonias de hongos en grano D y ND en relacion con los tratamientos testigo. G. sepium mostro la mas alta inhibicion de hongos; G. inortatum y P. koidzumii fueron los menos efectivos. Los polvos vegetales inhibieron el desarrollo de Aspergillus spp. Ademas, Rhizopus sp. Penicillium sp., Aspergillus spp. y Fusarium spp. requirieron diferentes condiciones ambientales para su desarrollo y mostraron antagonismo interspecifico.
