One hundred white leghorn layers, aged 52 weeks and clinically confirmed for natural infection by mixed helminths were randomly divided into groups A,B,C and D comprising 25 birds each. Groups A,B, and C were medicated Fenbendazole in drinking water using subnormal, normal and higher dose rates of 5-10 and 20 mg/kg body weight, respectively. Group D served as medicated control. Pre treatment serum samples were collected 2 days before the medication commenced and subsequent sampling was made on days 1,3,5 and 9 post treatment. All serum samples were subjected to analysis for Na+, K+ and Ca++ levels using single standard flamo photometric methods. No significant changes occurred in serum Ca++ level.
