Plant growth and yield response of plum 'Fazli manani' to varied doses of nitrogen

Effect of various doses of nitrogen (0.5, 1.0 and 1.5 kg tree-1 each) was studied on plant growth and yield of plum 'Fazli Manani'. It was found that the application of nitrogen @ 1.5 kg tree-1 significantly resulted in highest shoot growth. Improvement in yield and fruit size was, however, found upto application of 1.0 kg tree-1. The decrease in yield and fruit size was probably due to increased vegetative growth.
