Sulfur and calcium are abundant in nature and farmers can formulate their own foliar fertilizer at least cost to enhance growth, produce off-season fruits, and increase the yield of mangosteen. Results of the study on the effect of formulated SQL [Sulfur-calcium oxide/quickline] foliar fertilizer on the growth and yield of mangosteen showed that application of SQL as foliar fertilizer within the range of 1:35 to 1:55 (1 part SQL: 35 to 55 parts water) before flowering, during fruit development, maturation, and after harvest significantly enhanced the growth of mangosteen. Nine periods of profused vegetative flush production were observed within a 2-year duration. Tree sprayed with SQL produced three harvest periods within 24 months with a total yield of 3.9 ton/ha as against 0.6 ton/ha obtained in control plants. The cost of the foliar fertilizer was P1,960
