Physical-chemical and selected biological characteristics were studied in two field wells situated close to each othger, which differ in the forms of exploitation of their surrounding areas (field, pasture). The data fall within a breadth of variation as specified for this region. The structure of studied organisms is influenced not only by geological conditions, but by technical characteristics and method of exploitation of immediately neighbouring land. Based on examined characteristics it may be concluded that the well water in question is of surface water type. 41 taxa of zooplankton but only 12 taxa of zoobenthos mostly belonging to eurybiont species, with the exception of the trogophile species of Niphargus jovanovici, were found, indicating specific subsurface conditions
