The anthropogenous influence upon productive soil by fertilizing without any respect to the basic soil qualities and limits has had only a short-term effect. Agricultural production has increased, but a long-term mechanism of unrequired, negative changes has been initialized. Knowledge of basic functions of abiotic complexes and their relations to biota is the first step in a positive (nondestructive) approach to using natural production resources. This problem has been analysed in detail on the concrete land-register territory of the town of Svaty Jur (Slovakia). Analytical inputs obtained from this territory (geological, geomorphological, soil-substrate and climatic) were evaluated to make possible a synthesis of homogeneous abiotic landscape units. The real production potential of these units together with the spatial expression of limited values of wetting, water erosion and working ability may be employed for a proposal of spatial distribution of categories for agricultural soils utilisation. The proposal of changes in the Agricultural Soil Fund (ASF) structure should at present provide some stability for the proper agricultural landscape as also its surroundings and it should therefore be elaborated simultaneously with the Local Territorial System of Ecological Stability (LTSES)
