Results come from a transect of 10-100 m in a permanent experimental plot, established in the Tatras National Park, protection district Strbske Pleso, Furkota valley, stand 351a, that is the State Nature Reserve with an area of 38.67 ha. The following traits were evaluated: breast-height diameter, tree height, height of the beginning of the green crown, crown length, height-to-BHD ratio, crown quality, number of branches per tree, crown branchiness, crown ramification, crown ground plan area, crown from view area, crown volume, crown surface area, basal area, stem volume. For each trait, arithmetic mean, standard deviation and coefficient of variation were calculated. This high-altitude stand meets all demands on the protective function, it is biologically, ecologically and statically stable, well resistant to unfavourable conditions of high altitudes
