New method of seed loosening from larch cones

Loosening of seeds from larch cones (Larix decidua MILL.) is done by thermal extraction of residual seeds. Loosening by extraction does not meet current hygienic and technical requirements. A new method of cone seeds loosening (trashing method) was tested. Based on the same measurements, a new technology comprising a transporting and trashing mechanism was designed. The transport mechanism is formed of a feed screw, while the trashing mechanism rotates with an axial motion of cones along longitudinal axis. The results of measurements suggest that this modification is necessary
