Sorbus margittaiana, an endemic of Krivanska Fatra Mts

New information on morphology, chorology and endemism of hybridogeneous species Sorbus margittaiana (Jav.) Karpati is provided. Briefly demonstrated findings of three new allied Western Carpathian species corroborate the conclusion that S. margittaiana is a narrow endemic restricted to Krivanska Fatra Mts. It is argued that both participation of S. austriaca (G. Beck) Henlund in the parent combination of S. margittaiana and the occurrence of S. austriaca itself in the Western Carpathians is very unlikely
