Sphaerospora epinepheli n. sp. (Sphaerosporidae: Myxosporea) was found from wild and cultured grouper. Infection was found mainly in renal tubule and glomerulus. First developmental stages of parasite was tound as a slood stages in blood circulation. Round cell with size ranging 1.96-10.78 um primary cell contained 1 to 16 secondary cells. Electron micrograph of blood stages revealed fuzzy surface membrane, ring form of rough endoplasmic reticulum and electron dense bodies in the cytoplasm of primary cell. Sub-spherical to spores with size ranging 8.70+0.4 um in lenght 13.40+0.5 um in thickness were found in renal tubules. Two poolar capsules with 3.70+0.3 um in diameter were observed close to eachother hear the sutural line. Patholosical changes caused by this parasite was observed mainly in reral tubule and glomerulus. Affected tubules exhibited highly vacuolation and pycnotic nuclei of tubular epithelial cell. Glomerulus showed degeneration of glomerula capillary and dilation of Bowmaris space. Infestaion of this parasite will be more severe couple with adverse effect of water quality in the culture system.
