Quality analysis and the quantity estimation of the wastewaters discharged from intensive shrimp ponds were studied between August 14, 1990-January 16, 1991. The quality of wastewaters were characterized by high value of B.O.D., Salinity, Total suspended solids, Chlorophyll (a) Orthophosphate, Nitrite, Nitrate and Ammonia-Nitrogen. However, the pond system of 6 rais, 2.5-4.0 rais and 0.91-2.0 rais which the quantity of wastewater discharged were 898.18, 339.65 and 145.02 tons/day respectively. The quantity of wastewater of pond system of 6 rais the value of B.O.D., Total suspended solids, Chlorophyll (a) and Nitrate was higher than the other 2 systems (2.5-4.0 rais and 0.91-2.0 rais). The quantity of wastewater of pond system of 0.91-2.0 rais the value of Orthophosphate was higher than the other 2 systems (6 rais and 2.5-4.0 rais) The quantity of wastewater of pond system of 2.5-4.0 rais the value of Ammonia-Nitrogen and Nitrate was higher than the other 2 systems (6 rais and 0.91-2.0 rais). However, the quantity of wastewater discharged from intensive shrimp pond, if the operator of cultured shrimp must be good cultured management and having wastewater treatment pond. These activities have a share for helping with decreasing water pollution which impact to environment of natural water body.
