Study on resistance patterns to 14 antimicrobials was determined in 133 isolates of Streptococci spp. and 166 isolates of Staphylococcus aureus from 1,308 dairy cows with mastitis in the northern region. Statistical analysis results showed that more than 50 % isolates of Streptococci spp. and Staphylococcus aureus resisting to 9 and 5 antimicrobials respectively. For each organism, the association of resistance for all 2-way combinations of antimicrobials was calculated for high and low odds ratios significantly. The odds ratio greater than 1 indicated a positive association, whereas the odds ratio less than 1 indicated a negative association. The odds ratio greater than 1 were observed in 24 and 19 pairs of antimicrobials for the Streptococci and Staphylococcus isolates respectively. Meanwhile the odds ratio less than 1 were seen in one and a pairs of antimicro bials for the isolates of Streptococci spp. and Staphylococcus aureus. This observation was focused on group of drugs that farmers had used routinely.
