Study on the biology of economic fishes in Bang Phra Reservoir was conducted from January to Decomber 1990. Fish samples were collected by using electro-shocking method. Four species of fish, Pla Tapian Khao (Puntius gonionotus), Pla Salid (Trichogaster pectoralis), Pla Krasoop Keed (Hampala macrolepidota) and Pla Bu (Oxyeleotris marmoratus) were selected in the study by determining length-weight relationship and dissected to observe sex ratio, maturity size and stomach content. Relationships between length of digestive tract and intestine with body length were also studied to determine feeding habits. The results show that the male-female was equal in all 4 species. Size at first maturity of Pla Tapian Khao, Pla Salid, Pla Krasooop Keed and Pla Bu were observed at 12, 13, 23 and 7 centimeters, respectively. Study on feeding habit showed that Pla Tapian Khao is herbivorous, Pla Salid feed on insect larvae and plankton, while Pla Krasoop Keed and Pla Bu feed on small fish and shrimp. Length-weight relationship in each species can be summarized in equations as follows Pla Tapian Khao W = 0.0000138 L** (2.9954) or log W = -4.858 + 2.9954 log L Pla Salid W = 0.0000344 L** (2.8219) or log W = -4.463 + 2.82219 log L Pla Krasoop Keet W = 0.0000361 L** (2.8221) or log W = -4.442 + 2.8221 log L Pla Bu W = 0.0000106 L** (3.036) or log W = -4.971 + 3.036 log L
