The data, from cattle farm "Dubrava" in Istok (Yugoslavia), concerning milking of Domestic (Yugoslav) spotted breed cows, have been used to estimate milking and fertility traits' variability and linkage. The 579 lactations of 243 cows during three generations (76 granddaughters, 101 mothers and 75 grandmothers) were included. Estimation of milking and fertility traits' variability was done by standard mathematical-statistical methods, and estimation of studied traits' heritability by the method of descendants' regression to one of the parents. The investigation done on the above mentioned population showed quite low productive and reproductive abilities, but also quite high variability which could be used in breeding programmes for production and reproduction improvement of wider Kosovo and Metohia population (Yugoslavia)
