The unfavourable development of agriculture in Montenegro (Yugoslavia) has, to a great part, been affected by the family farms which have substantially been neglected. This refers particularly to farms located in the northern parts of the Republic of Montenegro (Yugoslavia) which had comparative advantages favouring livestock breeding development, i.e. cattle production. The objective of the study was to analyse some major characteristics of these farms.
