The growth performance of kids of domestic Balkan goat breed during the suckling period (from birth to 90 days of age) were investigated. The traits of kids growth had the following mean values: birth weight 2.58 kg, body weight at 30 day 5.50 kg, body weight at 60 day 8.63 kg, body weight at 90 day 11.67 kg and average daily gain (ADG) in the first, second and third month of age 97.04, 104.18 and 101.35 g, respectively. Performance and variation of these traits were significantly (P0.01) affected by flock, type of birth and sex, as well as birth weight by type of birth x sex interaction and ADG (average daily gain) in the second month of age by flock x type of birth interaction. Phenotypic correlations among the traits of kids growth during the suckling period were positive and statistically significant.
