At present consumers are increasingly looking for food products which could prevent disease or illness. Consequently there is an increasing number of food products on the market with claims which relate to health. Those claims are mainly to promote the product and to increase sales; however, many of these claims are not supported by scientific evidence. It is hoped that guidelines on health claims, especially of milk products, can be established.
