Effect of plant age on the antixenosis resistance of Lycopersicon hirsutum to Tuta absoluta

The objective of this work was to study the effect age of plants in the resistance for antixenose of Lycopersicon hirsutum to Tuta absoluta (Meyrick) (Lepidoptera: Gelechiidae) at the Federal University of Vicosa, Vicosa, Minas Gerais State, Brazil. Effects of trideca-2-none (2-TD) and undeca-2-none (2-UD) levels, density and types of trichomes and leaf area of plant of L. hirsutum and L. esculentum with two, three and four months old on the oviposition and mines number of T. absoluta was studied. Increase of L. hirsutum plants old increased 2-TD level. The different age of plant of L. hirsutum and L. esculentum did not affect to oviposition this insect. L. hirsutum plants with two months old and L. esculentum plants with two and three months old were more susceptible than plants with four months old
