1998
Starast, M. | Karp, K. (Estonian Agricultural University, Tartu (Estonia). Horticultural Department)
Since 1995 the cultivation of arctic bramble (Rubus arcticus L.) has been investigated at Estonian Agricultural University. Data about the chemical composition and the quality of barries of arctic bramble and its hybrids have been presented. It concerns the years 1996 and 1997. On an average berries contained 0.08...0.38 per cent organic acids, 4.6...6.4 sugars, 21.0...45.0 mg per cent ascorbic acid on an average in the two years. The berries of hybrid's varieties were the heaviest. Chemical composition and quality are needed to characterise processing ability. According to the two-years result, the arctic bramble cultivated now in Estonia may developed valuable raw material for food and liqueur industry
