To control swine sarcoptosis, experimental work with 6 antiparasitic preparations containing different active substances was carried out. Our investigations were made to measure the effect of Anti-larvae Spray, Sherley's Permethrin, Ectopor, Ectosid, Ivomec and Sebacil Pouron. Pigs showing clinical signs of mange were used in our trials. Clinical evaluations were made weekly up to 42 days after treatments. Scrapings of infested skin from each pig were examined microscopically to determine the number of mites, their eggs and larvae present. A great improvement of pigs was noticed two weeks after treatments. After 6 weeks the treated pigs had practically no live mites in their skin. The most active compounds were Ectosid and Ivomec. Our results indicate the suitability of several preparations containing pyrethroids, methopren, ivermectin or phoxim in animal treatments against swine sarcoptosis
