Modelling of consumption of automated concentrate feeding dispenser by dairy cows in loose housing technology

Using computer-aided methods, it is possible in modern dairy husbandry to control and feed single animals intensively and individually in loose housing systems. The objective of the present study is to represent and forecast factors affecting an individual cow's actual concentrate consumption and the number of visits to the dispenser. It appeared that automatic concentrate feeding allows individual cows to select the ratio of forage to grain consumed. The obtained amount of concentrates and the number of visits to the concentrate dispenser were affected by the consumption of concentrates per 1 kg of milk, roughage feeding time, age and the allocated amount of concentrates or production of milk per year.
