The influence of nitrogen fertilizer, fungicide and retarder on the gluten content of winter wheat

The rsults indicated that the gluten content of winter wheat without application of nitrogen fertilizer after field grass was low - on the average of 21 per cent but after spring rape higher - 27,8 per cent. Under the influence of nitrogen fertilizer it increased after field grass by 2.5...5.1 per cent and after spring rape by 2.2...4.6 per cent. Under the influence of N 100...125 kg ha sup(-1) the gluten content increased on the average by 6.8...9.8 per cent. The most favourable N rate for winter wheat was N 50...75 kg ha sup(-1) applied to the field in early spring
